Landbeach Tithe Barn – are you our missing piece?

The New Year issue of the Fen Edge News features the very old Landbeach tithe barn on the cover, a picture taken by local author Ray Gambell.

We’re now looking for a few more trustees to join our small, but dedicated volunteer Tithe Barn Trust team. Amongst us we already have Heritage Management, Agricultural, Community Liaison and Financial experience. However, we also need an Architect, Historic Building Surveyor and Project Manager. Are you the right person to complete our jigsaw?

We’re a not for profit volunteer group aiming to save and sympathetically restore the 16th Century Grade II listed Tithe Barn, in Landbeach, for community use. We have begun the process to become a registered charity.

Our vision is to: Work for a vibrant, diverse and sustainable future of the Tithe Barn and its surroundings to safeguard their unique heritage features for the benefit and enjoyment of local people.

Gemma O’Shea, local resident and Shadow Trustee, says “It’s an exciting time to get on board. If you have vision and a little time to give something back, get in touch. This unique barn is now in a state of disrepair and unless we act now we could lose this gem at the heart of Landbeach.”

Picture shows story teller Pete Jennings in action at last April’s open day. There’ll be more chances to experience the amazing building this year – look on the Facebook site.
