Sustainable Cottenham | Cut plastic waste this summer!
Cut plastic waste from your summer events
If you’re planning a summer event or party, did you know there are resources newly on offer in the village to help you save waste, cut out single-use plastic and reduce your carbon footprint?
Re-usable cups – 300 half-pint cups, first introduced at the Fen Edge Festival last year on the initiative of Sustainable Cottenham, now available on loan from the Fen Edge Community Association [free to FECA members]. For details on borrowing these attractive blue-patterned cups follow this link.
Re-usable Party Kits – Cottenham Primary School’s PTCA has launched a new sustainable party scheme providing party boxes of cups, plates, jugs and table cloths, to cater for up to 30 or 40, children or adults. Bunting and reusable cloth bags for pass-the-parcel are also available. There is a £5 charge to hire for the day plus a £10 deposit, refundable if all the items are returned safely.
Please contact the PTCA if you would like to try out our new sustainable initiative for your next party – cps-ptca@outlook.com
These re-usables can help you avoid plastic waste and save money too. Are there other ways to keep your event more climate-friendly? Sustainable Cottenham would like to hear your ideas, feedback and any suggestions for improvements or additions: contact chris@sustainablecottenham.org.uk
