The Club is a members club: £10 a year for individuals or £15 for a joint/couples membership. You do not have to be a Willingham resident. Most events are open to non-members for a small fee. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the club or online, and possibly on the door subject to demand.
June Events
Custard Comedy is back at Willingham Social Club on Friday June 29th! Our latest night features the copper turned comic Alfie Moore. The night begins at 8.15pm and tickets are selling fast online – Book Now
Alfie Moore is an original and distinctive comedian with his niche area as a serving police sergeant.
Born and raised on a council estate in Sheffield he was an apprentice in the steelworks before joining the Police where he has served for eighteen years, gathering a wealth of hilarious stories that you ‘just couldn’t make up’.
He has an observational comedic style, which lends itself to witty, and sometimes gritty, anecdotes based on everyday modern policing.
For over a decade Dan Evans’ accessible but childish surrealism has delighted audiences throughout the UK and Ireland. He’s appeared on BBC 2’s ‘Brain Candy’, ‘Channel 5 at The Store’ and the Channel 5’Comedy Zone’, Radio 2’s ‘Stand Up Show’ and ’28 acts in 28 minutes’ on Radio 4. ‘A favourite with audiences as well as with his notoriously hard-to-please comedic peers’ The Guardian.
Since his stand-up debut in 2008, Pete Teckman has made the progression from open mic nights and gong shows through to regular paid work thanks to his ability to produce laughs from any audience. He has a mix of self-deprecating and observational humour as well as some surreal flights of fancy and a liberal sprinkling of well-crafted gags. “Very solid, well-constructed gags.” Glee Club.
MC – James Cook. James is a professional comedian based in Birmingham, UK, with over 1,000 gigs worth of experience. His act has been described as “truly original” (Danny Wallace (off the telly)).
