Willingham Action Group – Repair Café 8 May
Repair café coming to Willingham
Repair Cafés are community events that match people who need stuff fixed with people who like fixing things. The international Repair Café movement kicked off in Amsterdam and now there are nearly two thousand Cafés around the world, covering most continents. It is a great way to reduce waste and save some money!
Repair Cafés are completely non-commercial. There are no promises and no guarantees, but if something can be saved, the repairers will do everything they can. Repairers are always keen to teach visitors how to do the repair themselves and at the very least happy for them to watch while they do it.
Willingham Action Group / Sustainable Willingham are excited to announce they are organising a Repair Café on Sunday 8 May 2022 at the Ploughman Hall in Willingham, so why not come along!
We are currently looking for repairers who would be happy to volunteer, so please get in touch if this sounds interesting to you (email willinghamsustainability@gmail.com). Repairers in all trades are useful but here is a list of common items seen at Repair Cafés: Small electrical or electronic appliances, bicycles, clothing in need of repair, toys, lamps, small pieces of furniture, mobile phones, laptops, printers, items that need gluing and jewellery that needs a clean/repair.
Due to Covid, numbers may need to be regulated and therefore a booking system is being introduced. If you have an item you want to bring along why not book it in early by emailing willinghamsustainability@gmail.com
