It WAS a Knockout!

What a wonderful, sunny day for the Willingham Family Fun Day – It’s A Knockout – on Sunday 17th July. The Fen Edge Community Association was pleased to be able to sponsor two teams: Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth (WAY) and the Cottenham Village College Duke of Edinburgh Award Team (Flip Flops).

Caroline Ward WAY Project Administrator wrote: “Thank you to you all for making it possible for WAY to take part in the It’s A Knockout today. The young people had a great time, made new friendships and had lots of fun. It was a great day which was incredibly well organised.” It was a great day and both teams had a great time for a good cause.

The QEII Playground projectWillingham It's A Knockout Programme 2016

In 2014 Willingham Action Group and Willingham Youth Trust organised the first It’s A Knockout which raised a staggering £8,000 towards the redevelopment of the QEII Playing Field. The fundraising continues in 2016 to complete the Phase 2 scheme which is the 12+ facility. It is hoped that this year’s It’s A Knockout will provide the community contribution that will unlock the remaining funds to complete the project.
