Cottenham Colts 3 Peaks Challenge Fundraiser

A dedicated group of fathers from Cottenham are on a mission to revamp the 3G pitch for Cottenham United Colts football club. The current pitch is in dire need of repair, hindering the training sessions and future games for the 23 teams, which range from U6s to U13s, including boys and girls teams.

To tackle this challenge, these fathers are embarking on a daunting adventure: the 24-hour 3 Peak Challenge on June 29th, 2024. This Herculean task involves conquering Ben Nevis, Snowdon, and Scafell Pike, all within a single day. Not only will they endure the physical demands of climbing and descending these peaks, but they’ll also navigate the logistical complexities of traveling hundreds of miles between them in a minibus, all with minimal sleep. It’s a true test of endurance and dedication, all for the betterment of their community’s youth.
The urgency of their efforts is underscored by the deteriorating condition of the current 3G at Cottenham Village College. With each passing year, the pitch worsens, posing a threat to the children’s ability to play the game they love. If left unaddressed, it could leave hundreds of children without a place to practice and play in Cottenham.

Their goal is ambitious: to raise approximately £20,000 to help towards a state-of-the-art 3G pitch. This upgraded facility won’t just benefit the children of Cottenham but also those from surrounding villages, providing them with a space to nurture their skills, foster their development, and promote their mental and physical well-being.

While the full sum may seem daunting, every contribution counts. The Cottenham dads aren’t aiming to raise the entire £20,000 through this challenge alone, but rather, they’re striving to collect as much as possible. So, if you’re able, please consider donating to support this worthy cause and help secure a brighter future for the youth of Cottenham and beyond.
