Meeting Point, the disco and party organizers, will be back at the club with a Christmas Disco to get you in the festive spirit. Strictly for the over 30’s, Meeting Point was originally a singles club organisation, but over the years has developed into a popular night out for everyone who loves music and dancing. Playing sounds from the 70’s to 00’s. Smart dress code applies. £6 entry.

Saturday 20th January, 8pm Bear Club, The ultimate Live party Band
Bear Club are a relatively unknown band here in Cambridgeshire. Hailing from Norfolk they are immensely popular in that region. They play a great range of music genres, including Indie, R&B, Hip Hop and Pop. Covers from 80’s Club Tropicana days, Blondie, Coldplay , Love Shack by the B52’s and one of our favourites ‘Jump Around’ by House of Pain. We have seen them in action at the ‘Festival Too’ after party in Kings Lynn and knew we had to book them!
Tickets £5 from the club or www.wegottickets.com/event/412726, possibly on the door too.

Darts
The club has a newly formed darts team, we have had a slow start being paired with the league’s best side for our first match we lost 7/0, but went on to slightly improve in our next match losing 6/1! It is early days and hopefully our results will get better as the season goes on. We could benefit from 2 or 3 more players, so if you fancy getting involved please let us know.

Willingham Social Club has a pool table and also a full-sized snooker table which was housed in the old wooden building fondly called ‘The Hut’ before it was demolished to make way for the new brick building. It was originally used to play billiards, the existing score board also survives and has recently been expertly renovated by village craftsman Ben Rayner. A club member Mr Roger Denson, now 70 (he won’t mind me saying!) played on it when he was just 11 years old! We would love to hear more memories of the club back in the day, and especially photos if you have any.

Finally we would like to thank everyone who has supported our events this year in so many ways, from those of you who display our posters, to the village organisations that hire our hall. We wish all of our members, guests, staff and committee a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year.
