Stickies Pop-up café | Cottenham | 9th and 14th September

Stickies is a new pop up café run by chef Lucy Robinson, co-owner of successful Cambridge cafe, Stickybeaks, and her sister Emma Downie. Lucy and Emma are launching Stickies at All Saints Hall in Cottenham with two dates planned so far: Monday 9th and Saturday 14th September from 12 noon to 5pm.

The sisters are excited to be bringing the amazing salads, filling savouries and delicious cakes, that were so popular in Stickybeaks, to Lucy’s home village. Lucy and her business partner sold Stickybeaks in 2018 to pursue other interests; Lucy’s being starting a family. Lucy’s sister, Emma, was closing down her own online business and was also ready for a new venture.

The two sisters were looking for a way to combine their passion for food with looking after their children and using the skills they’d learned from their own businesses. A pop-up café seemed perfect – “We’re not tied to any one venue or high business rates and we can bring the food we love to the villages where we live”, says Emma who lives in nearby Landbeach. Lucy, a Cottenham resident, says, “There’s already a great community café in the village but there’s definitely room for something a bit different. We both miss the fresh and original food we served at Stickybeaks and so do our regulars and friends, so we hope they will come and try Stickies in Cottenham”.

So, what’s on the menu? “We’ll be serving inspiring salads with middle eastern influences and scrumptious sandwiches. For those who want something hot there’ll be frittatas with different fillings and of course sausage rolls! Obviously a good choice of “sticky” fare is key for us too so we’ll be bringing you lovingly made cakes and cookies all with a little twist. With a good selection of drinks, we hope there’s something for everyone.”
